Getting started
What is Pull Up?
Pull Up is a live social discovery app built around knowing where the vibe's at. Find what's happening nearby right now, see what it's actually like through Moments, and pull up.
Creating your account
Download Pull Up from the App Store or Google Play and follow the sign-in steps in the app to create your account.
How old do I need to be to use Pull Up?
You must be at least 16 to use Pull Up. Some events or venues may have higher age requirements, such as 18+, depending on the venue, host or local law.
Setting up your profile
Add a profile photo, display name and bio from your Profile tab so people recognise you around Pull Up.
Location permissions
Pull Up asks for location access so it can show you what's nearby, calculate distance and support arrival features. You can manage this anytime in your device's settings.
Camera permissions
Camera access is needed to capture Moments directly in the app. You can manage this anytime in your device's settings.
Notifications
Turn notifications on to hear about approved requests, events starting, nearby activity and more. Manage these from your device's notification settings.
Discover
How Live works
Live shows places and events that are active right now. A place or event moves out of Live once it's no longer active.
Live vs Upcoming
Live is happening now. Upcoming is something scheduled for later that you can plan around.
Using the map
The map shows nearby places and events, including things like category, distance and activity, so you can see what's around you at a glance.
How places appear on Pull Up
Places can be added by Pull Up, sourced from public location information, or created automatically through community activity, like someone posting a Moment somewhere new.
Finding things nearby
Pull Up uses your location to surface nearby places, events and activity. Browse the map or your feed to see what's close by.
Categories
Categories like Bar, Club, Activities, Party, Beach, Rooftop and Social help you filter and find the kind of plan you're after.
Pull Ups
What does Pull Up mean?
A Pull Up shows you're interested in going somewhere. It's a signal of intent, not a booking.
Pulling up to an event
Tap Pull Up on an event or place to mark that you're interested and get relevant updates.
Does Pull Up guarantee I can enter an event or venue?
No. Pulling up shows your interest or intention to go. It is not a ticket or guarantee of entry. Venues and hosts may have age limits, capacity limits, ticket requirements, dress codes or other entry rules.
Starting a route
Once you've decided to head somewhere, Pull Up can show you directions. Routes are informational. Follow local traffic and safety rules along the way.
What happens when you arrive?
Pull Up may use arrival-related features to recognise you've reached your destination, which can unlock things like posting a Moment at that location.
Moments
What is a Moment?
A Moment is a photo or video you post that shows what a place or event is actually like right now.
Posting a Moment
Open the camera from inside Pull Up, capture your photo or video, and post it to the place or event you're at.
Why Moments expire after 24 hours
Moments are meant to show what's happening now, not build up a permanent feed. Public Moments normally expire from view after about 24 hours.
Choosing or changing a location before posting
Before you post, you can confirm the place your Moment is associated with.
Why a Moment might be removed
A Moment may be removed if it breaks our Community Guidelines or Terms, for example if it's reported and found to violate our rules.
Reporting a Moment
Tap the menu on any Moment and choose Report to flag it to us.
Camera troubleshooting
If the camera won't open or video won't record, check that Pull Up has camera and microphone permission in your device settings, then restart the app.
Hosting
How to host
Tap Host from the app and fill in your event's details: name, category, description, timing, location and access setting.
Public vs Request Approval
Public events can show their location to anyone browsing Pull Up. Request Approval events keep the exact address hidden until you approve a request.
Can I make my event 18+?
Yes. When you set up your event, you can choose an age limit of All ages, 18+ or 21+. Make sure the age limit you set matches the venue's actual entry policy and applicable local law. It's your responsibility as host to communicate and enforce this at the door; Pull Up doesn't verify attendees' ages.
Editing an event
Open your event from your profile or the event page and update any detail that's changed.
Cancelling an event
You can cancel an event you're hosting at any time from the event's management screen.
Approving requests
For Request Approval events, review and approve or decline requests from your event's management screen.
When an event becomes Live
An event moves into Live once it starts and is actively happening.
What happens after an event finishes
Once it ends, the event moves out of Live. As host, you're responsible for keeping details accurate up until then.
Places
How places get added
Places can be added by Pull Up, sourced from public information, or created through community activity.
Posting somewhere not already on Pull Up
If you post a Moment or event somewhere new, Pull Up may create that place automatically so others can find it too.
Incorrect place information
If a place's details look wrong, let us know via Contact so we can look into it.
Does a listing mean Pull Up works with that venue?
No. A place appearing on Pull Up doesn't mean the venue has partnered with, endorsed or approved Pull Up.
Safety
Reporting content
Use the report option on any Moment, event or profile to flag it to our team.
Blocking users
If this feature is available to you, you can block a user from their profile so they can no longer interact with you.
Private event addresses
Request Approval event addresses stay hidden until the host approves you. Please don't redistribute an address you've been given access to. Being approved doesn't override an event's age restriction. You still need to meet that requirement, and anything else the venue or host requires, to be let in.
What to do in an emergency
Pull Up is not an emergency service. If you or someone else is in danger, contact local emergency services first.
Privacy while posting
Be considerate of other people when you film. Not everyone wants to be in your Moment.

Boosts
What is a Boost?
A Boost is a paid option that increases an event's visibility in the app.
Does a Boost guarantee attendance?
No. A Boost increases visibility only. It doesn't guarantee attendance, Pull Ups, or that Pull Up endorses the event.
Payment problems
Boosts are purchased through supported payment or app-store systems. If a payment doesn't go through, try again or check your payment method's status with your app store.
Refunds
Refund requests for Boosts are handled according to the policies of the platform you purchased through (App Store or Google Play).
Troubleshooting
Camera will not open
Check Pull Up has camera permission in your device settings, close other apps using the camera, and restart Pull Up.
Video will not record
Make sure Pull Up has microphone permission and that you have enough free storage on your device.
Location not updating
Confirm location permission is set to Allow (and While Using / Always, if relevant), and that your device's location services are turned on.
Upload stuck
Check your internet connection and try again. If it's still stuck, close and reopen the app.
Notifications not arriving
Check that notifications are enabled for Pull Up in your device settings and inside the app.
App crashes
Try updating Pull Up to the latest version. If it keeps happening, let us know via Contact so we can look into it.
